Program Title:
Character Foundations: Building Core Values in Primary School Students
Purpose:
The Character Foundations program is designed to equip primary school students with the essential character traits that form the bedrock of personal success and community responsibility. This comprehensive, year-long curriculum helps students develop 8 core identified character traits - trustworthiness, empathy, respect, responsibility, integrity, fairness, initiative, and citizenship. Each trait is explored in-depth over the course of a month, ensuring a gradual and sustained impact on students' personal growth and their ability to apply these traits in real-life situations.
Program Goals:
- Foster ethical and responsible decision-making among students.
- Develop social-emotional skills that enhance relationships and teamwork.
- Instill a sense of community and citizenship, encouraging students to contribute to society.
- Create a positive school culture that supports mutual respect, empathy, and fairness.
Scope of Reach
The Character Foundations program is designed to be implemented school-wide for all primary grade levels. The program can be adapted for varying class sizes and is intended to benefit:
- Students: By building personal values and social-emotional skills, students will experience improved behavior, better peer relationships, and a greater sense of responsibility.
- Teachers: Teachers will benefit from a structured curriculum that integrates character education with classroom activities, enhancing classroom management and student engagement.
